ERIC SOTO

Eric Soto is the President and CEO of PER, Inc.  PER, Inc., one of the largest privately held construction companies in the State of Hawaii, provides general contracting, construction, development and construction management services throughout the State of Hawaii and the Pacific Rim.

Eric, a graduate of the University of Hawaii, started his career working for C. Brewer Limited in their plantation system.  He worked his way up from Management Trainee to Director of Irrigation Systems at Wailuku Sugar.  While in that capacity, he helped in developing the Drip Irrigation System that was highly technical and helped in conserving valuable water resources in the irrigation of sugar cane.  Eric was then offered positions with the County of Maui and again had a successful career in government and rose rapidly from Economic Development Coordinator to Director of the Water Department.   In 1981, wanting to start a new career, PER, Inc. was formed as a construction company in which Eric was Owner and Founder. 

Eric is an astute businessman whose success has gained him respect and admiration from his peers. In 1995, Eric was the recipient of the Minority Small Business Person of the Year and in 1999 he received an award as National 8(a) Graduate of the Year on behalf of PER, Inc. 

He currently serves as the Sports Hall of Fame Commissioner for the State of Hawaii, a position held by a select group of leaders in the community. Often times, investors and developers approach him to joint venture or partner in real estate project.

Eric’s construction contracts from inception exceed $300,000,000 and development projects are in excess of $150,000,000.
